DERAILING THE BANDWAGON

Production company and blog for underground touring and lafayette local music.

Jan 21

3 different shows - 1/29/2010 - pick one.. or two?

I think everyone in the Lafayette area is pretty up to date, whether or not you like him, with whatever Dax Riggs has got going on these days. He definitely toned things down over the years and whatnot, but what the hell has Acid Bath guitarist, Mike Sanchez been doing? Have you even heard of him in particular? Me either. But it will sure be interesting for some of us to check out what The Unclean has to offer in shred tactics 15 or so years after the fact (Acid Bath). 10 Ton Junkie & Wildflowers (lolz) will be opening. 10 PM-ish… we all know how you peeps in da flatz bruh like to show up incredibly fashionably late for everything that involves an art form and a bar.

Alright seriously, look at this fucking flyer. Noone is better at not taking themselves seriously thanĀ Honey Pillow. If you don’t know Brycen and Case, it’s hard to understand where exactly it is these guys are coming from. But for musicians with a sense of humor, close friends, casio enthusiasts, and fans of irony, HP is nothing short of pure mad scientist genius. If you haven’t been to one of the many Caddywhompus & Smiley With A Knife shows, you deserve a god damn spanking. Ask somebody, or go here:

Right next to Sadie’s, Frankie apparently done did it again (lolz), with hosting shows by bands that don’t usually hang out at City Bar (another lolz). I, myself, am interested to see what this is all about. Here is what the description from facebook says:

it’s 2010 & Frankie’s Burgers is ready to unveil its new status as a local venue rockspot! with new outdoor back patio & stage with tiki bar, straw umbrellas, projected light shows, hanging plants, HEATERS, & two of the hottest bands around, local mystics Bird City & New Orleans’ Giant Cloud! the fun starts January 29th at Frankie’s 427 Jefferson Street; Lafayette, LA. & it. will. be. HUGE!!! don’t miss this one, people!
