TONIGHT, TONIGHT
HOUSE SHOW - DOOM, SLUDGE, CRUST, PUNK, HARDCORE, ETC:
*At 6 pm, the house show, who’s lineup contains Thou, Iskra, and Blast Rag, will be starting, and perhaps slowly stretching the butthole of lafayette’s DIY scene a tad bit. Be inspired by this: The location that this is taking place is an old apartment complex across from Lafayette Middle surrounded by neighborhoods and traffic, etc. If someone can have a house show in such a location without any trouble from neighbors or police, who’s to say you can’t? HOUSE SHOWS ARE EASY TO ORGANIZE, YOU SHOULD DO ONE YOURSELF! It’s a great excuse to party, and it’s basically no more than a regular old party except with a band, so the extra trouble on your part will be slim to none.

*At Sadie’s this evening for the weekly $1 night, I (Max Binet) shall be playing music that is all over the place stylistically, something for everyone. Ranging from Pavement, Health, These Arms Are Snakes, Skeletons, Animal Collective, Black Flag, All Leather, and Converge, to Pantera, Joan of Arc, Samothrace, Outkast, Fleet Foxes, Skream, The Jesus Lizard, and Tortoise. Requests are absolutely welcome.
“Indie”, punk, metal, hardcore, electronic, a little hip hop, and everything in between that is not roots music, country, gangster rap, and the type of indie that is starting to play in the background of car commercials.
ROLLER DERBY BENEFIT:
*Roller derby benefit at Skate Zone. Not sure what time this starts, and the only band I know of that is playing is Span The Sky, but i’m sure there will be many more, so if you’re into supporting derby girls, then there’s definitely something for you at the Skate Zone tonight.
