Sadie’s 1.28.10

I’m going to go out on a limb here, no exaggerations. Change Today has made one of the most abrupt and drastic improvements of any heavy band around the area. The Change Today that initially formed was “four on the floor”, straight forward, 2 minutes a song, group chants and strictly power chords, but that formula is long gone. Since the recent lineup rotation of Tyler Guidry moving to drums, Blaze Wyble taking over second guitar duties, followed by original guitarist Trey Guidry’s migration up north and his replacement Adam Meche, and to top it off, ex-Fight Between Frames bassist Julian Blanchard, the guys seem that they have literally been changing every day they write music together perhaps. From the first song in their set, it was obvious that changes have been made, and if i do say so myself, for the better, absolutely. The endless supply of power chords and two steps have been traded in for noodly guitar hooks, octave leads, powerful tom and snare work, among other things. Whereas in the beginning these guys would seemingly stay in the same key for their entire set, their new sound is quite the contrary, their new formula, entirely refreshing, and their front man, all healed up and ready to bust some heads all over again. I applaud you gentlemen. I was genuinely impressed with your set Thursday night. Can’t wait to hear the new tracks. Bravo.

As always, Acadiana displayed their dick and balls to everyone present at Sadie’s this passed Thursday with their blend of cajun themed, head bobbable, heavy as balls metalcore. With their singer finishing out his last couple of shows with the band, the mood was anything goes, energetic, and drenched in plenty of sweat. And as promised, David Prado’s hair annihilated every person standing within a 5 foot radius of the stage. Ok, so I’m exaggerating. Good luck with the singer search dudes! Seriously though, check out this hair:
